We were standing outside at our gate (Linden, Johannesburg) talking at this exact time when our security guard said "look at the lights" we turned and saw the most magnificent fluorescent red UFO moving from the West towards our position, it was travelling at the height mentioned in your description. What was so remarkable was the brilliance of the red lights - indescribably beautiful - and moved smoothly overhead in absolute silence. Even directly overhead there was no sound. From underneath it formed a triangular shape - if you hold your arms straight and make a triangle between your thumbs and index fingers - that is how big it was above us at the great height. Very, very clear. As it moved away towards the East in the direction of Bez Valley, it retained the brilliant red lights without any dimming (which is what happens when an airplane moves away). While we were looking at the first craft - the guard said "Look! More lights!" pointing in the direction that the first craft had come from. We looked and saw an identical craft with the same phenomenal brilliant red lights, at a similar height, same size and shape and moving in complete silence and towards the same destination of the first craft. Our guard said that these were the same lights that he saw at around 12h30 midnight on New Years eve this year - but there were 6 of them - three moving from the North southwards, and 3 moving from the South northwards. I can barely describe the sense of joy and confidence that I felt watching these phenomenal space-craft moving over. What a privilege to be outside at the very moment that they passed over.
